Announcing the IMO CARES Maritime Technology Global Challenge: Identifying green technologies for ports and vessels in Africa and the Caribbean
The IMO CARES Project has announced the IMO CARES Maritime Technology Global Challenge, inviting technology providers worldwide to submit innovative decarbonization solutions for ports and domestic vessels in Africa and the Caribbean. The challenge aims to accelerate green technology adoption in developing countries, focusing on small island developing states and least developed countries.
Up to four winning technology providers will receive funding to develop tailored proposals for deploying their solutions in the specified regions. The challenge is open to companies with market-ready decarbonization technology suitable for use in ports and on ships under 5,000 gt.
Winners stand a chance to receive funding ranging from $15,000 to $30,000 USD for the development of full technical proposals. The initiative aligns with IMO’s commitment to a greener and more sustainable future for the maritime sector.
